Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-05-21T20:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-05-21T20:12:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: S06W47
Active Region Number: 13679
Note Keyword:
DFL: Likely deflection of the event within the FOV
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
GAP: Data gap
Source Signature Keyword:
FLR: Flare
DIM: Dimming
Morphology Keyword:
O: Other
Note: CME seen to the NW in SOHO only, as STEREO is in a data gap at this time. The source is not completely certain, but is likely an M1.9 flare (S06W47) from AR 3679 which peaked at 2024-05-21T19:31Z best observed in SDO AIA 131. The CME is observed deflected northward if this is the source, but it is backed up by SDO AIA 171/193 imagery showing the signature could erupt northward instead of outward from the region. Observed as dimming after the flare and some weak field line movement in SDO AIA 171/193.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

Source of AR 3579 used (S06W47) as a basis, and finding the longitude fit with the observed EUV northward deflection. Some variance could exist in the longitude given the one-spacecraft measurement. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
